During his life, a person is exposed to radioactive radiation of natural origin: solar, cosmic (galactic) radiation, radiation from rocks of the earth's crust and air.

Over the past decades, artificial sources of radiation used in industry, medicine, geology, etc., have been added to human life.

Artificial radioactivity has arisen and is distributed exclusively by man, in contrast to natural sources of radiation.

In some cases, people endanger their health, even without knowing it, when dealing with a radioactive source without an appropriate designation. Radioactive sourse can by got out of control (was lost, illegally stored, etc.), or can by radioactive “garbage” illegally exported from burial nuclear waste or radioactive zone.

"Comrad-1000" - Hand-held combined metal and gamma detector has been developed and manufactured in series by Radateh Ltd. Detector provides the requirements of IAEA-TECDOC-1311 (IAEA) “Prevention of the inadvertent movement and illicit trafficking of radioactive materials”.

The technology used and the layout of the elements of the device allows you to calibrate the metal detector on a stable metal background and to search, localize shielded sources of radiation (in metal containers, vehicles, etc.)

During just single scan the ComRad-1000 allows simultaneous detection and localization of metals and radioactive substances.
